About the Course:
Difficult times can bring out strengths and vulnerabilities in any and all individuals, teams, and organizational systems. Knowing how to listen, ask questions, and give sensitive, firm, and clear feedback is vital for supporting employees on the mind-body edge. Participants will learn the stress-depression-anger-substance use-performance change signals for knowing an individual needs more extensive emotional support through EAP referral, individual counseling, etc. Professional-led group facilitation can also encourage individuals to seek needed emotional support. Course Objective:
- This course is designed to equip leaders and professionals with the skills and awareness needed to support mental health and emotional well-being in the workplace. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of stress and emotional distress in employees, develop effective communication strategies for offering support, and make appropriate referrals to counseling or Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). The course also emphasizes the importance of normalizing mental health conversations, reducing stigma, and understanding the organizational impact of neglecting mental health issues. Additionally, it covers group facilitation techniques to strengthen team resilience and foster a supportive work environment.
